Abigael Wambui’s Story
Abigael is a bright and determined teenager girl who grew up in a family that faced significant financial challenges In Dandora slums.
Despite her love for learning and her dreams for the future, continuing with her education was becoming increasingly difficult because her family could not consistently meet the costs of her schooling, bearing in mind that she was the first born in a family of 3. She had to stop schooling to give her siblings an opportunity to join school, However, she remained hopeful that one day she will become a hairdresser and a make up artist what was her dream career.
When I learned about Abiegael situation, I decided to sponsor her education through Neptune college. I believe that financial circumstances should not prevent a determined child from having an opportunity to learn and build a better future.
She became more confident and focused on her studies. Her determination reminded me that sometimes, giving someone an opportunity is all they need to begin changing their future.
Today, she has a successful career and using her knowledge to make a difference in her home and community.
Her journey has taught me that education is more than paying school fees. It is about giving a young person hope, confidence, opportunity, and the belief that their dreams are possible.
I am grateful to have played a small part in Abigael journey. Her story is a reminder that when we invest in education, we are not only changing one child’s life—we are helping to create a brighter future for families and communities.
